WTS System speaks to children, with Acapela TTS

Creasoft Santé, a french company specialised in software for health, education and consumer applications in France and abroad, has chosen Acapela 's TTS to speech-enable WTS System, an innovative new concept designed to assist speech therapists in their work with children.

With a very simple system, the child writes a group of letters on a graphic tablet, to complete the beginning of the word shown on the screen together with the associated image.

The tablet interprets the letters using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and gives immediate feedback to the child via Acapela 's TTS. Depending on the correctness of the answer, Creasoft's educational software offers the child different activities.

Using OCR and text-to-speech technologies, WTS System adds stimulating interactivity to speech therapy. The child simply hears what he has written, in his own language. WTS System becomes an interactive and innovative tool for speech therapists.

Creasoft Santé has started clinical tests to evaluate, over a population of 30 speech therapists, the results of WTS System.
