FunkTrans Termintransport GmbH, the largest direct transport service in Austria, has chosen the full digital disposition and fleet management system from UniDiCom, speech enabled by Acapela. UniDiCom, a leading company in electronic mobile solutions in Austria, provides a global system based on Pocket-PCs with GPS-localization and GPRS-Networking, covering the whole transportation channel. The Call-Agents can localize the drivers in real-time and have an overview of their position, status, orders and waiting waste time. The address of the incoming order is transformed into GPS coordinates by a GeoGIS-database and sent with the billing information and other delivery conditions to the nearest car to the pick-up place.
UnidiCom solutions allow FunkTrans Termintransport to track, in real time, the 200 vehicles in circulation, to constantly adapt their route to optimize pick up and delivery delays, significantly reducing wasted time and superfluous transit, resulting in a better service in terms of reactivity and delivery performance.
Acapela text to speech comes in to safely and immediately vocally transmit the details of the next stopping place -order and address basically- to the drivers. The information is transmitted to the pocket PC located in the vehicle and visual information is automatically vocalized using Acapela text to speech. Hands on the wheel and eyes on the road, the drivers can continue their rounds, simply following the Acapela voice. The cost reduction and performance, productivity and safety improvements have been enormous.
