Handi helps people with cognitive disabilities, using Acapela.

Handi software is based on text, picture and sound. The integrated Acapela speech synthesizer offers voice support, speaking out the instructions and information, for better understanding and easier use. Acapela speech synthesis converts into speech any written information in real time, creating a new valuable interface, also in mobile situations.

The main application of Handi is a calendar, completed by other features such as an album, notes, voice notes, communication, forms, etc. The forms function has been specially designed for persons with psychological disabilities and it is the first try with assistive technology for this group. The tests have been very promising.

Handi is a small and easy to carry device providing support where and when the user needs it: at school, home, work, during shopping, etc. Available in Swedish and Norwegian version, Handi will be shortly available in Danish, Dutch and English with the new release of Handi, Handi II.
