Infovox Desktop is the voice that makes your computer speak and your life easier. Infovox Desktop is an open SAPI text-to-speech engine that lets you access your computer through your favourite screen reader, screen magnifier or any other application supporting speech.
How to install the Infovox Desktop PRO demo version
The demo version of Infovox Desktop v2.2 will grant you a 30 days license. Under these 30 days you will have complete access to all functionalities of the product.
Installation instructions:
- Download the engine (under Step 1)
- Install the engine by launching the downloaded file and following the instructions on screen.
- Download the voices you are interested to test (under Step 2). Download of the voices has been kept separate and not grouped by language to avoid extremely large downloads.
- Install each voice by launching the downloaded file and following the instructions on screen.
Step 1
To install Infovox Desktop V2.2, you will first need to download the Infovox Desktop v2.2 engine:

Step 2
After having installed the engine in Step 1 here above, you can now choose which voices to install.
There are two different level of quality for the voices.
- PRO voices offer highest quality and intelligibility and require more disk space.
- Standard voices use an older technology that require less disk space but provide higher flexibility

Service Pack 1
The Infovox Desktop v2.210 Service Pack contains the following improvements:
- solution for the the License Manager problem in Windows Vista
- support for the encoding tables for Russian, Czech and Polish that are being released at the same time as the SP1 (see below)
Installation of Infovox Desktop v2.210 Service Pack 1
If you have already installed Infovox Desktop v2.2, then you need to download "Infovox Desktop v2.210 SP1 Patch". After download launch the application and follow the instructions on screen.

If you have not installed Infovox Desktop yet, then simply install Infovox Desktop by following the instructions here below. Infovox Desktop will automatically contain the patch.
July 2008: Release of new languages
WebPackages containing three new female voices are now available:
- Czech (voice Eliska)
- Polish (voice Anja)
- Russian (voice Alyona)
To use these new voices you need to have installed the Service Pack 1 for Infovox Desktop v2.2.
