With MobileSpeak, the use of mobile phones becomes accessible to anyone thanks to text to speech, which rises above the "all-visual" concept barriers. The menus and functions of the telephone are vocalized with Acapela's natural-sounding high quality speech synthesis which ensures intelligibility and user comfort.
MobileSpeak reads all the information on the screen and relays basic but essential information such as network strength and battery level and can enable services such as SMS, MMS, e-mails, calendar, etc.
MobileSpeak also includes its own specific functions:
> Direct hotkey access to applications
> Two sound pre-set profiles, designed to improve sound quality when using the headphones.
> An mp3 reader and sound recorder.
This program reinforces the partnership initiated in 2000 between Bouygues Telecom and HandiCaPZero, an association dedicated to helping visually impaired people, by improving their autonomy and safety.
MobileSpeak is available for free to all Bouygues Telecom clients equipped with a compatible phone, such as the Nokia 6600. The installation is handled by HandiCaPZéro, who also provides a practical user guide for the phone in Braille or large print. Customers can ask for further information by contacting HandiCaPZéro via their website www.handicapzero.org or by contacting Bouygues Telecom's customer service.
Mobile Speak was developed by Code Factory, a company based in Barcelona (Spain). More information at www.codefactory.es
