Acapela Group, the first European Speech Group, announces the availability of Acapela Mobility 7.1, the latest version of its Text-To-Speech engine that has been specifically tailored to voice-enable mobile devices with very natural sounding voices. With the support of Symbian, an operating system for data enabled mobile devices, Acapela is now expanding into the world of mobility with the company's “golden tones” now available for PDA's and smartphones. To enrich this exciting new portfolio, Acapela has made the service available in 4 additional voices: French, Portuguese, Danish and Arabic which guarantee performant, compact voice formats as well as quick response time.

Acapela Mobility 7.1 speech enables the Symbian world In addition to being compatible with Windows Mobile and Linux versions, Acapela can now be used with Symbian thus meeting a rapidly expanding smartphone market. Research by Gartner suggests that more than 42 million units were sold in the first half of 2006, representing a 57% increase from the same period in 2005.

Acapela Mobility 7.1 offers the ultimate compromise between performance requirements and quality demands within an optimal response time. The company's speech engine is the obvious solution to deploy various services and applications for the next generation of mobile devices: hand/eyes-free navigation, content reading, voice dialling, data collection, storage and other tools designed to meet accessibility needs.

Acapela Mobility's high quality voices are available in a total of 13 languages and 21 different voices. The full portfolio of Acapela's speech programme covers 21 languages and more than 40 voices.

Shaping mobility specificities.
In order to complete its global mobile services with Symbian, Windows Mobile and Linux, and to meet current market demands, Acapela has created Acapela Mobility CS (Customer Specific), thus widening the possibilities of advanced speech with an additional set of 4 sampling frequencies and 9 voice formats.
Acapela Mobility 7.1 is available on Symbian 6, 7, 8 & 9, WINCE for Pocket PC, Pocket PC 2002, Windows Mobile 2003, Windows mobile 5, Smartphone and Linux.
