Acapela Sayso™ has been sunning itself at the Cannes Film Festival, on board the first Wi-Fi communicating C3 Pluriel, presented to the press and the festival-goers. Using Wi-Fi technology, this version of the C3 Pluriel offers a range of services to simplify mobile life around town. Geo-localised information, email reading, news bulletins or even real time video streaming were some of the features available via a PDA.
With Acapela Sayso™'s incredibly natural and intelligible voice, the users can listen to their email or the latest news bulletins in real time, without taking their eyes off the road.
The prototype displayed at the Cannes Film Festival is the first step of a project run by Citroën and the University of Sophia Antipolis, with the support of many partners such as AFP, D-Link, HP, Microsoft, Navtech, Orange, Piernet TV, SFR, Steria, 3L Interactive and Acapela Group.
The demonstration of the Wi-Fi communicating C3 Pluriel, as part of a large campaign to publicize Citroën's new car at the Festival, provided a perfect opportunity for Acapela Sayso™ to confirm the important part played by speech technology onboard the new generation of intelligent cars.
